Wolfram de Marco's Loft
26-Dec-2008 - MovieScore Media has released the score for Loft. German composer Wolfram de Marco, whose previous film credits include arranging and orchestrating scores such as Poseidon, Constantine and Catwoman, has composed a dark and intense orchestral score for Loft, the new film by Belgian TV personality and filmmaker Erik van Looy (The Alzheimer Case, Shades) and writer Bart De Pauw (The Mole). Performed by the London Metropolitan Orchestra, the music evokes the darkness and sensual mystery of Loft, a film about five married men who share a secret: a spacious loft, in which they can quietly receive their mistresses. One morning, they discover the body of a young woman and no one knows who she is or how she got there...

John Barry's Starcrash
24-Dec-2008 - BuySoundtrax Records presents Starcrash, featuring music composed and conducted by John Barry for the 1978 camp science fiction classic directed by Luigi Cozzi (aka Lewis Coates). For the music, the producers turned to composer John Barry, then world-renown because of his work on the James Bond films. Starcrash represents an early foray for the composer into the realm of science fiction and he would soon return again when he worked in 1979 on The Black Hole, Disney’s attempt to compete with rival studios in the wake of Star Wars and Moonraker, that year’s entry in the James Bond series, which featured many science fiction elements.

David Mansfield's The Guitar
12-Dec-2008 - Lakeshore Records has released the soundtrack for The Guitar. How would you behave if you had to confront your own mortality? Especially if you were young, in your twenties or early thirties, how would you react if you learned you had less than two months to live? These questions create the point of departure for Amy Redford’s whimsical fairytale The Guitar, a thoroughly engaging almost mythological allegory that is fueled by the exceptional performance of Saffron Burrows and executed with style by its director. The soundtrack contains original music composed by David Mansfield (Transamerica, The Apostle, Heaven’s Gate) and songs by Jonny Savarino, Phoebe Jean Dunne, Alap Momin, Deb Montgomery, and two songs by The Everyothers.
