All Hail The Hippest Of Q's!
by a soundtrack collector (March 19, 2006)
It's been awhile since I've listened to this score from Quincy Jones although there are some characteristics that linger in my mind like a fond memory.

Main title vocal an obvious statement on the work of fellow composer Henry Mancini (who by the way was responsible for Q recieving his first film scoring assignment).

Solo bass clarinet track a wild piece of listening like none other. Damn close to being audio brutality in a beautiful and sweet kind of way!

Recording should be considered a classic in the files of film music and truly worthy of the highest degree of praise!

By the way, what the hell happened to the Quincy Jones who created so many unique and exceptional sounds back during the 1960's and 70's?

All hail the pre-funky shortbread/Michael Jackson Q who did some damn good work back during the days of a well defined celluloid hipsters rein of original soundtrack terror! *****
