One of Mark's best early soundtracks
by a soundtrack collector (March 21, 2006)
This is one of Mark Isham's best early soundtracks. Imspired by popular music from the early 20th century, Mark used some excellent musicians on this score as well, with compositions (and exquisite vocals) provided by Charlie Couture, and Sidney Bechet. The score contains little of Mark's trumpet, and no electronics. The first listen may make you think someone spun up an old 78rpm record, but this album's beauty will quickly grow on you. The soundtrack stands very well on it's own outside the film.
