Tough Blues Score From Nick Gravenites!
by a soundtrack collector
(March 23, 2006)
From the 1973 screwball comedy starring Donald Sutherland, Peter Boyle and Jane Fonda comes the soundtrack recording by legendary Chicago bluesman Nick Gravenites in cahoots with such notables as Paul Butterfield, Jeff Muldaur and Maria Muldaur!
All the elements came together in perfect formation for this classic outing! The recording taken from original music and songs from the motion picture is an inspiring blast from first groove to last!
Tough, powerful early 70's electric blues. Neurotic and nuts in fitting with the offbeat antics of the cast of on screen characters including a call girl (Jane Fonda), ex-convict (Donald Sutherland) and escaped mental patient (Peter Boyle) planning the heist of a much needed piece of Jet engine in order to get their 1940's junkyard relic off the ground and in the air.
Truly an amazing film and recording! *****
