Reviews
Just another confident masterpiece
by
Dorian (August 14, 2004)
The title expresses best what I thought after hearing Cosma's score for 1978 movie Confidences Pour Confidences. The score, which unfortunately lasts only for five minutes altogether, is included together with seven other Pascal Thomas' movies scored by Vladimir Cosma. I must commend the great concept of the disc, where Confidences Pour Confidences creates a superb sequel to the melancholy song "Vieni Qui" and also nice 'prelude' to the songs from Un Oursin Dans La Poche.
What more, the score is excellent by itself, even if listened to without the previous and following movies. The first of the three tracks is only a piano solo, with greatly changing dynamics and introducing the beautiful movie theme. Then, the two other tracks contain also some accompaniment of other instruments (strings and woods), with highlighting the main theme in the most beautiful ways one can think of. Although only five minutes altogether, it makes you listening to it again and again ...
Except for these three tracks included on the Vladimir Cosma/Pascal Thomas disc, released first in 1994 and re-released in 2001, there has never been any release of this nice score. Despite the fact that this one would really deserve a complete release, we just have to listen to these three again and again.
