The guy who rated this score as a 2star is an ignorant
by a soundtrack collector (July 12, 2003)
How can anyone possibly rate this highly effective score as a mediocre one...to be honest this Bertolucci film could hardly do without the fantastic and highly erotic score by Barbieri and the cinematography of Vittorio Storaro. The sax jazzy interludes of Barbieri are the soul of this film, and give life and romanticism to the provocative and sometimes cruel vision of Bertolucci. The music reflects the erotic expression of the heroes of the movie. This is one of the most important scores of all times for its unique melodies and its dramatic tension.
