Original and all-around cool!

Michael Andrews first attracted my attention with his brilliant score for "Cypher". His work here isn't quite as good as in that particular film, but nevertheless is deftly showcases Andrew's budding talent. Like "Cypher", the music is atmospheric and captivating, pulling you into the film's world better than aything else. The main theme is a lonely piano cue present in "Carpathian Ridge" and "Did you know him?". "Gretchen Ross" is a beautiful piece of music. All the tracks are great. Very unique, styalized--and not for all tastes. I've heard some say the music sounds more like noise, and while that's there opinion and they're entirely welcome to it, I feel sorry as they are misinterpreting some great ethereal soundscapes. "Mad World", by the way, is a beauiful, saddening song. VERY good work from Andrews and Gary Jules (on vocals).
Highly recommended--though the disc is a little short...
