Absolutely incredible.

One of the best soundtracks I've ever heard. Javier Navarrete is a composer I'm not terribly familiar with, but his work here surpasses all the big-shot Hollywood players. The score is somber and quiet but rich with texture, imploring the use of several less-popular instruments to great effect. There are two tracks here that are among the best pieces of music I've ever heard: Track 13, "Momias", and 15, "Sin Fin". These two pieces of music are breath-taking and beautiful, the later inspiring a sense of awe like no other piece of music I've heard in a long, long time.
It's such a shame this soundtrack is so little-known. Had the film gotten a theatrical release and had a better reputation, I'm thoroughly convinced it could have at LEAST been nominated for an oscar (skeptical? track down the CD and listen for yourself).
Absolutely beautiful, brilliant work. One of the best soundtracks I've ever heard.
