Intense and thoughtful score,

From beginning to end I thoroughly enjoyed this album. John Murphy has created a score that can be absolutely kick-ass and intense one minute, quiet and thoughtful the next. He takes a very minimalistic approach to scoring the film, with a pretty guitar theme (not unlike the opening of "Stairway To Heaven") being featured prominently in tracks like "The Beginning", "Then There Were 2", "I Promised Them Women" and "No More Films". Quiet, gentle textures somberly underly "Taxi", "An Ending" and "Red Dresses". Acoustics hammer and roar in "The Tunnel", "Tower Block" and "In The House-In A Heartbeat". Sprinkled throughout the score is some truly beautiful choral work by Ave Maria, who carries us through "Jim's Parents" in a lovely solo. The Blue States' "Season Song" is also a great edition to the album.
Murphy's approach to scoring the film is a winning combination of choral brilliance and accoustic mayhem that works very well in the film and beautifully on CD!
A highly recommended album!
