Reviews
Better than the Film
by a soundtrack collector (January 29, 2004)
This score was brought to my attention by the group of people over at Streaming Soundtracks.com. We had been bemoaning the lackluster quality of the score for Pirates of the Caribbean when someone suggested they should have swapped scores with Sinbad.

For an incredibly formula animation film, I really feel that Gregson-Williams has done an awesome job. I had heard the score before I saw the film and was very caught by his motifs.

His playful choice of motif for the villain is excellent, Eris who is capricious and it comes across in the piece. You know its the villain but not the doom and gloom kind.

His theme for Syracuse is stately and powerful, and wonderfully sweeping.

I heartily recommend this score, and hope Disney considers him for the sequel to Pirates!
