Solid Followup to Run Lola Run

Run Lola Run was a soundtrack that hit on all cylinders, full of great andrenline pumping music. The Princess and the Warrior is a much quieter movie, and one of the results is that the alternate versions of songs don't work nearly as well as they did on the earlier soundtrack. However, once we get past the alternates and into the soundtrack proper, it gets very good. For me, the highlights are "Opening (Sissi Search)" and particularly "The Roof" These two tracks are really the basis of the 4 star rating here, because for some reason (licensing?) they left off the ending music - "Nothing Really Blue" by The Penguin Cafe Orchestra. Since this music is so important to the movie it's a terrible loss to not have it on the soundtrack. They could have jettisoned one of the hip hop covers instead.

Still, Tom Tykwer & co. have shown a high level of skill, both in making fims and composing scores. I look forward to future efforts.
