Not many songs from the film included.
by a soundtrack collector (March 20, 2004)
This limited edition "official" release of Tangerine Dream's The Keep score is, sad to say, a disappointment. There is not much of the music that actually appeared in the film included here. These other compositions are decent but do not come anywhere near the impact of such tracks as the film version of Gloria or the driving main title. These new tracks are not as dark, moody, gothic or as otherworldly as the songs from the film. Being a highly sought after limited edition, this disc tends to get a bit pricey. In my opinion, it's worth holding out for the (possible) eventual release of the full soundtrack on a wider scale. Why pay $50 + for a soundtrack that doesn't have the vast majority of the songs from the soundtrack?

The Keep
by
The Drew (August 18, 2003)
I've always heard a rumor that on occasion, Tangerine Dream would write a score to a film without actually viewing the movie.... This is the case for Michael Mann's The Keep. What is there to really say about this title? The Keep was a great book written by F. Paul Wilson and had potential as a film, but was totally botched in its silver screen incarnation.. and that includes the score. If you are a hardcore Tangerine Dream fan, then you will probably enjoy it. If you're not, consider yourself warned.
