memorable theme by james magurn (June 28, 2011)
The music hits you upfront with the credit roll & sticks with you for the whole picture. The main theme is so memorable that it becomes the story & screenplay. The movie is OK but the score stands on its own & helps the picture move along its story line.Rosanna Podessta is even more appropriate & gorgeous when that theme is playing. The music is so overlooked in the soundtrack world.I don't have a copy but I do watch the VHS version from a couple years ago.I knew about the video from a local radio personality in Philly known as Mr. Movie on 1210 radio. The score is a must for movie music enthusiasts.I hope that Screenarchives FSM will produce a new CD of the film score separately but right now the only CD version is the original pieces from the Elmer Bernstein multi compilation which is very expensive at this time.I hope I've made some headway with getting people to know Max Steiner's beautiful score.
