Swept away by the music
First off, see the movie, then the music will seem even more suited to Amy's secretive love! The music is the muted sound of the sea below the waves, it is the craggy cave where the lovers consummate their love, it is the wind-swept cliff overlooking the sea, it is their home nestled in the jutting, rolling English hills...it is perfect.I listen to this when I need inspiration in my writing, or just want to be transported out of time. It is a "Wuthering Heights" kind of gothic sound, or as one would imagine it to be.
A Favorite
This soundtrack is one of my favorites! It's romantic, deep, mysterious and passionate.
Music to dream by ...
I am always amazed when I listen to the music of John Barry. He can practically tell the whole story just with notes. You hardly need to watch the movie! I have loved the music for "Somewhere in Time" for years. When I heard "Swept from the Sea", I knew without even looking that it had to be John Barry's work. He is brilliant! Many times his work has gotten me through a tough day, or soothed me when I couldn't sleep. I also believe that he makes fifty percent of the magic in a film!
