hello, could somebody tell me, where I could get the original CD of THE SHINING soundtrack, possibly of Reflex Records S 75820 P 437-2?

There was NEVER a legal CD copy of the shining soundtrack released just bootlegs. Only thing
close is the already mentioned Wenday Carlos CDs that were recently released title
Rediscovering Lost Scores VOL 1 and 2. Containing music that was somewhat used and a LOT of
cut film score Wendy recorded. I highly recommend it but for the other "classical" tracks Kubrick
used in teh film use the www.imdb.com and look under soundtrack details for the film and you
can find the classical pieces used on the composers CDs and compile your own copy of the drops
of music Kubrick actually used.

Hey Luca,

Another possibility is to look for the original 1980 soundtrack LP on vinyl on Warner Brothers (look for details in the database here). If features two Wendy Carlos tracks and most of the classical cues used in the film. It's rather rare, but pops up from time to time and is not too expensive.

Best,
Burnie

Many thanks for your answers, I have already the original LP from WB, but several tracks from the movie are missing. To me the track-listing of the Reflex Records CD would be quite complete. I wander how the sound-quality is...

Just a FYI Reflex Records is selling a BOOTLEG. and my guess is Reflex Records is not legit and
I'm sure if you find this CD it will be a really crappy CD-r best bet if you don't want to spend a
tremendous lot... go to the www.imdb.com site and or find out what the tracks names are
and just go to a site like www.amazon.com find the classical pieces on various CDs for cheap
(used from sellers even) and burn yourself a CD... trouble is on tracks like the awakening of
Jacob and other pendercki tracks they can be about 11- 15 mins long if I can remember and
Kubrick only would use maybe 4 mins or so of the peice... so it is a strange dilema... not even
sure if Warner bros. if they would ever release a decent CD for it what they would do about
these pieces... would they bridge them so to speak of make a double CD set featuring the
complete works of each track.

There was a bootleg CD that used Japanese artwork. I have this CD, and the sound quality is not that great. It is the complete LP.
