The piece you are asking for is "Dream of a Sabbath Night", which is a movement from the "Symphonie Fantastique" composed by Hector Berlioz.

It's the "Symphonie Fantastique" by Hector Berlioz.

The main theme / leitmotiv is the "Dies Irae", an old gregorian chant that made it into many adaptions and horror film scores (like Wendy Carlos' "The Shining", for instance).

Hope that helps,

It's the "Symphonie Fantastique" by Hector Berlioz.

Its main theme / leitmotif originally was the "Dies Irae" (Day Of Wrath), an old gregorian chant was was adapted by Berlioz and later appeared in many film scores as well (i.e. "The Shining" by Wendy Carlos).

I hope that helps.

IIRC it's the same as the opening music from THE SHINING:

Symphnie Fantastique

I believe it was "Symphonie Fantastique." The fifth movement which contains
variations on the "Dies Irae" funeral dirge. That's my guess, without looking it up.
