Max Steiner's Marjorie Morningstar
12-May-2006 - Screen Archives Entertainment has released the score for Marjorie Morningstar, the story of college-student Marjorie Morgenstern who, while working as a counselor at a summer camp, falls for 32-year-old Noel Airman, a would-be dramatist working at a nearby summer theater. Like Marjorie, he is an upper-middle-class New York Jew (born 'Ehrman'), but has fallen away from his roots, and Marjorie's parents object among other things to his lack of a suitable profession, such as medicine or law. The two CD's contain Max Steiner's complete score from the mono mix-downs. The music was supervised by the legendary Ray Heindorf. The release includes a 40 page booklet with notes by film historian John Cocchi and producer Ray Faiola.
