Angelo Badalamenti's The Wicker Man
8-Oct-2006 - Silva Screen Records has released the score for the long awaited remake of The Wicker Man, starring Nicolas Cage and Ellen Burstyn. It's the story of a sheriff, who investigates the disappearance of a young girl from a small island. He discovers there's a larger mystery to solve among the island's secretive, neo-pagan community. The haunting and at the same time warm music is by Angelo Badalamenti. He says about his musical ideas for the film: "...and I decided, that it would be great, if we could musically take the audience on a 'deceptive journey'. Selling the connection of Willow, detective Edward, and the ittle girl Rowan, by initially creating a warm theme that works for them on their own, and then becomes intertwined."
