James Horner's All The King's Men
19-Oct-2006 - Varèse Sarabande has released the score for All The King's Men, a movie based on the Robert Penn Warren novel. It's the story of the life of populist Southerner Willie Stark, a political creature loosely based on Governor Huey Long of Louisiana. Written and directed by Steve Zaillian, the Academy Award-wining writer of Schindler's List, this movie sports a truly remarkable cast as well as an impassioned music score by Academy Award-winning composer (Titanic) James Horner. Horner's score is a strongly thematic one, using a large orchestra, several pianos and lots of percussion, with a sweeping southern-toned main melody, a few motifs, and a theme for Burden and Stanton's childhood memories.
