Giuliano Taviani's La Masseria Delle Allodole
11-Jun-2007 - CAM Original Soundtracks has released the score for La Masseria Delle Allodole (The Lark Farm), the new controversial film directed by the brothers Paolo and Vittorio Taviani and presented at the 57nd Berlin Film Festival in the "Berlinale Special" section in February this year. Based on the novel by Antonia Arslan entitled “The Skylark Farm”, the story chronicles a family’s struggle for survival during the Armenian genocide in Turkey in 1915. Starring Paz Vega, Moritz Bleibtreu, Mohammed Bakri, Angela Molina, Tcheky Karyo, Arsinee Khanjian, Andre Dussollier, and Alessandro Preziosi. The intense and elegant score, performed by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra in Prague, is composed by Giuliano Taviani. The Hover Choir, conducted by Sona Hovannissyan and the duduk, performed by Gevorg Dabaghyan, were recorded at A.P. Records Lt. Co. in Yerevan, Armenia.
