Recall Music For Films... a new label
21-Feb-2006 - The Recall Group has announced the launch of Recall Music For Films (RMFF), a joint venture with multi-million selling and award winning composer Eric Serra (The Big Blue, The Professional, La Femme Nikita, Fifth Element, Golden Eye). The first release is Marco Beltrami's score for The Three Burials Of Melquiades Estrada, the directorial debut of Academy Award winner Tommy Lee Jones, who also stars in the film and serves as the musical supervisor. The album has been released January 31, 2006.

Recall Music For Films (RMFF) will release top quality film soundtracks via a new global licensing agreement with Europa Corp, the top European independent film studio lead by Luc Besson (director of La Femme Nikita, The Professional, The Big Blue and producer of The Transporter, Kiss of The Dragon, Unleashed). RMFF features an amazing variety of soundtracks including: Bandidas (Salma Hayek, Penélope Cruz), Revolver (Guy Ritchie) and Color Me Kubrick (John Malkovich). All soundtracks will include a bonus behind-the-scenes video about the making of the film's score and soundtrack.

"We are building a strong brand, based on a solid A&R approach and using new ways to work, both here and abroad. In partnership with the 25 year veteran Eric Serra, and an extraordinary network of artists and business people, a privileged relationship with Europa Corp, the biggest film studio in Europe, we feel our greatest opportunities are in front of us," says Recall Group CEO Alexandre Sap.

Founded in 1997 by Sap, Leslie Dubest (A&R) and Stephane Lumbroso (CFO), Recall Group is now one of leading independent record companies in France. Based in Paris, with new offices in New York and Toronto, distributed by Warner in France, Ryko in the United States, and Universal in Canada, Recall has developed an exciting roster of artists and soundtracks.

"Since the very first time I met Alex, Leslie, and Stephane, I always wanted to do something with Recall. I like their energy, their passion, and their strong artistic vision," remarks Eric Serra. "I was fed up of working with guys who sell music only because it's more sexy than selling socks. I had this idea for a long time: to create a label where I could release my own soundtracks, but also give a chance to new talent and expose them through some of my projects. With RMFF, a very exciting challenge is about to begin."

Alongside its soundtrack releases, Recall Records (RR) will be dedicated to releasing a diverse selection of new and established artist albums , from indie rock to electronic to hip - hop to world . Following successful European releases from Mylo, Brand New Heavies, Lisa Stansfield and The Servant, Recall Records will focus on US releases from British indie rockers Grand National, electronic producer DJ Cam, and international singer songwriter Jehro.

The US division will be run by Managing Director Chris Gray; formerly with Rykodisc, Palm Pictures, and Sanctuary. "I am impressed with Recall's dedication to independent music. Their taste is impeccable and their approach innovative. I think it's perfect timing for an independent label from France to make an impact in the US market."

The Recall Group will also be dedicated to exploring and developing entirely new expressions of music and image, whether for film, television, advertising, video games or communications and internet technology."
