6-Mar-2006 - Varèse Sarabande has released four new titles in the Varèse CD Club.Elmer Bernstein’s work on Ghostbusters became an instantly loved genre classic upon its release in 1984. This Collector's Edition includes over 70 minutes of music from the film, plus music composed for the film but not used, and music composed for the album but not used. Bill Conti is present with three previously unreleased scores on one CD. A must-have for all Conti (and Chicago Cubs) fans. Rookie Of The Year makes the release of this CD a major-league event all its own. Also on this CD the previously unreleased scores for A Night In The Life Of Jimmy Reardon and Bushwhacked. Finally, 45 years after the film’s release, Franz Waxman’sReturn To Peyton Place receives its own premiere release. What a joy it is to hear the composer revisit some of his loveliest melodies and further explore them in an all-new score. Also featuring the vocal arrangement of the main theme The Wonderful Season of Love, performed by Rosemary Clooney. And the last one, An Almost Perfect Affair features on of George Delerue’s most uplifting themes. His melodic gifts were truly astounding and his music is absolutely infectious.
