    Broadsword calling Danny Boy...
by Graeme Watson (September 11, 2006)
I first saw this film when I was a kid in the 1990's. I never used to go for war films, but this was different; it was suspenseful, action packed, and had a great score to match by Ron Goodwin (Operation Crossbow, 633 Squadron, Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines).
Every time I watched it since, I wished I had the score; not only for the main themes, but the German source music picked up by the Schloss Adler Radio Operator, and that of the "Zum Wilden Hirsch" bavarian bar.
The day after I found out that a full score was available (but limited to a 3000 copy film score monthly release), I found one for retail in a UK shop on September 8 2006. Unbelievable; I thought my chances would be slim. It even had Operation Crossbow.
If you are lucky enough to find it online, I recommend this soundtrack highly, to any fan of the film.
