A Delightful Blast from the Past!
by a soundtrack collector (May 20, 2006)
The 1965 20th Century-Fox Film, "The Pleasure Seekers", was a musical remake of "Three Coins in the Fountain", reset in Madrid instead of Rome as in the earlier picture with 4 new songs by Sammy Cahn & Jimmy van Heusen, all sung by the fabulous Ann-Margret in her prime. The album cover features a super sexy full colour shot of Ann-Margret in a skin tight gown in her famous sex kitten pose. The background score and conducting is by Lionel Newman, brother of legendary film composer Alfred Newman and a gifted but rarely recorded composer in his own right.. The LP includes the four songs and 10 great tracks that exemplify the many musical styles of the “Swinging Sixties”, including bossa-novas, cha-chas and Latin flavoured background cues. Featuring some of Ann-Margret's strongest vocal performances, most unavailable elsewhere, this soundtrack from "The Pleasure Seekers" is a delightful blast from the past!
