All Arrembaggio!!!!

I have been waiting the release on CD of the fantastic score for many years and earlier this year this wish was granted by Digitmovies. Brothers Guide and Maurizio De Angelis are very well known and very much respected in their genre, both as score composers and as song writers / performers (with the monicker Oliver Onions). The music on Il Corsaro Nero is very rhythmic as is the case with the majority of the scores composed in the 70's by these 2 brothers, dreamy tunes and with a very melodic approach, synthesisers and ethnic instruments blend beautifully with the orchestra, the lyrics on the songs are very fitting to the theme of the film Some of the melodies are reminiscing of their works on the Sandokan films (but then again the film features the 2 main stars of Sandokan as the main acors of Il Corsaro Nero as well, namely Kabir Bedi and the beautiful Carole Andre) but in no way there is any recycling of musical material. The layout of the CD is also very nice and to add more reasons to buy this gem of a CD for those who years back had bought the vinyl the cd features the original LP cotnent in the first ten tracks, then are are are 15 tracs of previpously unreleased music. A real gem for fans of the genre, truly unmissable! Well done and keep it up Digitmovies!
