    Typically cheerful spat
by Dorian (March 8, 2004)
This classic 1978 soundtrack presents Cosma in his typical mood for comedy scores. The main theme contains very nice synth playing the main lissome theme, then a slower riff, and later, there is even a short drum fill. The rest of the score contains either typical comedy variations (like "Petit chèque, gros chèque", the bit from the funny scene where Louis de Funès writes checks of various sizes to his workers), or 'spectral' tracks ("Coup fourré" or "Peur bleue").
Eight tracks of the soundtrack can be found on Cosma Cinéma Collection 6 CD, and two others are on Louis de Funès vol. 2 compilation CD. These are, the 'lamb' theme and the final theme. Again, as with L'Aile Ou La Cuisse (or, in fact, any other 1970s Cosma's score), it escapes me why the original LP has not been fully rereleased on CD. La Zizanie is maybe not exceptional, but it is standard Cosma quality, which means it has the most pleasant atmosphere that comedy soundtrack can be demanded on.
