After a long time, I finally added this 1992 EMI records release to my score collection, and was the last official Thunderbirds score I needed.
The first of two extended Thunderbirds movies released in the 1960s, Thunderbirds are Go! features a storyline involving an ill-fated mission to Mars, and Alan Tracey's interest in one Lady Penelope.
These two elements allow for two of the highlights on this score release.
The first is the theme for the Mars spaceship "Zero X".
This theme features during the impressive extended assembly sequence of the "Zero X" spacecraft, and is an impressive march theme, demonstrating Barry Gray's skill.
The second is the feature of "Cliff Richard and The Shadows" who perform the song "Shooting Star" written for the movie. As an added bonus on this CD are The Shadows instrumental interpretation of the Thunderbirds March, Zero X theme, and a new theme for Lady Penelope.
Other tracks on this CD include a spin on the "Joie de Vivre" Parisian accordion theme, Jeremiah Tuttle's banjo-esque theme, as well as a big band version of the popular "Dangerous Game" theme from "The Cham-Cham" episode.
All in all, a great CD for Gray/Thunderbirds collectors.
I own the two 2000s releases by Silva Screen, and I can confirm there is no duplicated material on this disc present on those releases, or indeed the MGM music limited release of "Thunderbird 6"
