Cosma meets Nino Rota
by Dorian (July 13, 2004)
Although Vladimir Cosma did compose the score for Celles Qu'on N'a Pas Eues at the same time as the splendid and higlhy successful Diva, it did not became available as a soundtrack in any form until 1994, when a title track appeared on the compilation of Pascal Thomas movies' scores.
So far, no further re-release was made. But certainly any Cosma fan would highly appreciate if this changed, as the single 4'26" track is really one of Cosma's best efforts. The instrumentation, arrangement and tempo all create highly atmospheric music, which I recommend listening to in dark. Listening to it is certainly a unique and fantasic experience, and the fact that from the half on most of the song is just repeated once more even increases it.
In some way, it reminds some cues from Nino Rota's scores, particularly from 8 1/2. I am sure that fans of either Rota or Cosma will not be disappointed by this one.
