    Very nice stuff,
by Alex (November 25, 2006)
This early David Newman score is definitely a stand-out.
Opening with the soft, dreamy and beautiful ""Lullaby", this score is well-structured, lushly orchestrated and makes for an enjoyable listen. My favorite action cue here is "Main Title", though some other tracks that stand out are "End Title", "Lab Reveal", the creepily somber "Amanda Dies", and the vibrant "John Goes Home". Though composed with a small orchestra, Newman makes fine use of what he's got. The main theme sound not unlike Hans Zimmer's "The Ring".
An expensive but very much worthwhile album to own, and definitely a fine 80's monster movie score.
