The Rooftop song isn't on the soundtrack, but is the best song!!!
by a soundtrack collector (October 16, 2006)
I call out the rooftop song in my title for anyone who is in search of it. By now, most music lovers have heard of the Icelandic group Sigur Ros. If you haven't, you're doing yourself an injustice, go out and buy there albums. You can even go to their website and download a lot of their music for free. The rooftop song that I mention plays in the background of the movie while Tom Cruise has to decide whether to stay asleep with Penelope Cruz, or to wake up and begin living his life again. The music is beautiful. The language that it is spoken in is Hopelandic, which is a language created by the lead singer of Sigur Ros (Victory Rose). They have only one song that appears on the album. But I highly recommend you get a copy of the rooftop song off their album "( )". Yes, the name of the album is an open and close parenthese. The album is truly untitled, and so is every song. But the rooftop song is track #4, and sometimes gets called The Nothing Song, or Njósnavélin. Also, the song on the Vanilla Sky soundtrack by Spiritualized titled "Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space" is also a really awesome song.
