Amiable Enough

Within the 150 minute runtime of this soundtrack you're sure to get some cool tunes. Right? Well, yes you do, but also a lot of generic and 'filler' music with not too many unique themes or originality.

The first CD begins quite impressively with 'Dearly Beloved' and an orchestral interpretation of 'Simple and Clean'. It seems like a con putting such great stuff at the start and then letting the rest slide into mediocrity. There are occasional highlights such as 'Treasured Memories' and 'Winnie The Pooh', plus some other light-hearted and cheerful tunes. I can't imagine why the boring and empty stuff wasn't ditched. If the fat was trimmed and all the cool stuff kept then this album would be a must have.

Unfortunately we have to sit through way to many dull tracks and boring bits. If there were more Disney movies and shows celebrated then familiar and classic tunes would be replacing the crud. There are some (Little Mermaid, Gummie Bears, Peter Pan) but not enough to make it a unique winner.

For hardcore fans of Disney only.

(Note, this release differs in no way from the Japanese version other than the fact that the 'Simple and Clean' song near the end of Disc 2 is in English. Very cool song tho.)
