    Wow! All-around excellent score!
by Alex (June 29, 2006)
Giant mutated spider flicks aren't especially well-renounded in the world of film scores, but Francesc Gener's score for 2001's "Arachnid" is an excellent, often brilliant soundtrack. The main theme is very dark and atmospheric, using somber violins to brilliant effect. Every single track on this disk--some favorites being track 1,3,8,12,13, and 17 (this particular track, "Pesadilla de Mercer", is an exempilary piece of horror music)--are truly excelent. Gener's work vaguely echoes that of James Newton Howard, though Gener in my opinion is a more original composer.
Excellent music all-around. Highly recommened and GREATLY over-looked.
