Wonderful CD compilation for the music and songs of my #1 movie
by
weepstah (January 30, 2006)
Any fan of Disney animated movies knows that one of the bedrocks of success for any of their great ones is the soundtrack. Pinocchio doesn't disappoint, with a lineup of classic songs:

When You Wish Upon a Star
Give A Little Whistle
Little Wooden Head
Hi Diddle-Dee-Dee (An Actor's Life for Me)
I've Got No Strings

Just as important as the songs are the wonderful snatches of music and themes that permeate the score - among my favorites are Clock Sequence, Desolation Theme, and Coach to Pleasure Island. But really, this is a great score that is welded so tightly to the animation that it's hard to split them apart. Leigh Harline was in rare form here.

Special kudo's must be mentioned here to Disney, who rescued most of the score from the vault and remastered it, included almost 62 minutes of music - virtually everything that appears in the film! After getting the earlier RCA CD with only 6 tracks (only the songs and in truncated format) this was really everything I ever could have asked for.
