Zombies and demons and dismemberment, oh my!

I've always liked Joe LoDuca's work. He's a very talented and versatile composer, and his first collaberation with Sam Raimi, "The Evil Dead", is a nice display of a young composer's strength. Despite working with almost no money, LoDuca's score uses a large variety of instruments of varying scope, from simple piano melodies ("Introduction") to ambient pulsing electronic sounds ("Rape of the Vines"). The best piece of music on this album is the beautiful, fully orchestrated "Dawn/Incantation", followed in a close second by "Eye Games/Charm".
A fine album to go along with one of the funnest no-budget gorefests of all time, and a good showcase for LoDuca's later, excellent work on the TV series "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys".
