Another treasure from the Telefunken-vaults by Wilfried Wittkowsky (December 8, 2005)
After the first Double-CD with old Telefunken-music from
Warner Music Group called "Martin Böttcher - Die Großen Film- Und TV-Melodien", the company now issued another old treasure from the vaults with music by German composer Martin Böttcher.
The CD is called "Karl-May-Melodien" and contains 12 original stereo-tracks from the 1966 Telefunken-LP with the name "Winnetou-Melodie".
Among the featured tracks are the first stereo-recordings of the charthit "Old Shatterhand-Melodie" (of "Der Schatz im Silbersee", that is "Treasure of Silver Lake" in foreign releases) and the main title from "Der Schut" (The Shoot). Even the soundtrack-LP from the Schatz im Silbersee-movie was completely recorded in mono at that time and from "Der Schut" an LP at that time
never was issued (but for the collector's luck the the soundtrack appeared some long time later on CD and even on LP, see http://www.soundtrackcollector.com/catalog/soundtrackdetail.php?movieid=19830
So Martin Böttcher thence (1967) decided to do something for the fans and covered his own themes anew in stereo. The tracks on the CD are digitally mastered for best
listening pleasure.
