Bernstein Recording Classic In The Halls Of Film Music Lore!
by a soundtrack collector (March 29, 2006)
Originally released on the Dot label in the late 1950's during the heyday of cool delinquency and Brando attitude glorified, the recording features a selection of themes from films starring the belligerent muffled voiced man of the hour and conducted by his musical counterpart Elmer Bernstein!

Who in their right mind would pass on an opportunity to hear the innovative composer interpret such widely admired offerings as "The Wild One" (Leith Stevens), "Streetcar Named Desire" (Alex North) or Julius Ceasar (Miklos Rozsa)?

Presented years before the Elmer Bernstein Filmmusic Collection recordings of the early 70's "Backgrounds For Brando" could be considered one of the first in that series! *****
