A 1998 score from one of the last truly qualified composers for Hollywood film!
The compact disc recording offering original music from "U.S. Marshals" is a mere 29:44 in length. Quite the testiment to a guy who could do more in 30 seconds than most of the overrated schmucks nowadays will do in a lifetime.
The film itself is standard action/adventure horseshit more suited to the "talents" of a Horner or Silvestri. The Goldsmith score immortalizes this otherwise forgettable piece of Hollywood trash and enhances it with a degree of tough edged beauty worthy of film with much more substance!
It's as if the composer knew full well the film was in need of a score capable of grabbing the audience by the throat and balls for the boring images on screen could'nt tickle a pussy!
The name Goldsmith is magic in the minds of those who appreciate quality sound in or out of context of the films for which they are created! *****
