For the Non-Soundtrack Collector Only! by Mitch Castle (December 27, 2003)
If you saw this (over-rated) movie and enjoyed the score you might be tempted to purchase this CD. If, like me, you purchase the occasional odd score to supplement your collection of the great film score composers then beware.
I do not recall the music in the movie but assume it did its job; isolated from the visuals this score is not to my liking. Worse still, the CD is cluttered with dialogue which adds nothing (I found the swearing both boring and offensive, especially as the CD cover gave no warning of this) and the Composer/Producer (David Holmes) saw fit to edit out the last few seconds of Dean Martin's "Ain't That A Kick In The Head" - this may work in the movie, it only annoys when played as musical entertainment.
I shall not be purchasing any other scores by Mr. Holmes without prior hearing. Fellow collectors: you have been warned!
