Promotional Score has more material?
I heard from someone on the IMDB forums that the promotional score has more material? THere is one piece in particular I am looking for. It is the Imperial theme that plays during chapter 7 of Part 1 and chapter 2 of Part 2 (as well as other places) that is always associated with imperial intrigue and the Princess Irulan. It is a violin/chamber music sounding piece and is very elegant. I have been looking for this piece for 7 years now, and I heard it was only briefly available on the PROMOTIONAL score. Please note that I OWN the regular score and it is definitely not on there. If anyone has any information please let me know.
Best,

what Dune movie? the old or the new?
In both cases, I don't know of the existence of any promo for Dune.
I've seen much and have lot on my collection, but never heard of this one.

Are you referring to the 30-track expanded release on the PEG label? If so, I highly recommend it over the 17-track Polydor release that includes dialogue on some tracks. I'm not sure whether it contains the theme you're looking for, however, because I don't have the film on DVD and I'm not familiar enough with it to know which piece of music you're talking about. I do, however, have the expanded CD release and it's fantastic, not to mention almost twice the length of the Polydor release. 72.5 mins > 41 mins. The CD is still available through SuperCollector's ebay store: http://cgi.ebay.com/DUNE-Complete-Score-TOTO-OST-CD-1984-David-Lynch-Film_W0QQitemZ320283768640QQihZ011QQcategoryZ307QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
