CORRECTION on the track listings!

Glad I found this site! I just got this cd containing "Rosemary's Baby" (haven't listened to those tracks yet), and the main reason why I got it, for "The Fearless Vampire Killers" music. Here's something I figured out (and surprised no one has mentioned on the page for this soundtrack cd):

Last night, I actually put the cd of the FVK music and my laserdisc on at the same time, and flipped back and forth to verify the tracks (still need to do a list of what order they SHOULD be in as they occur in the movie), but here's what I came up with. The cd jewel case liner lists the track #, track title, and then the running time (in that order), but the order here is rearranged because I'll be having a page for the music on the FVK tribute site I'm working on now. Here's my list of the CORRECT tracks:

VAMPIRE KILLERS

CD tracks listed as:

22 - 2:14 - Main Title
23 - 0:53 - Sarah In Bath
24 - 0:51 - Snowman
25 - 2:07 - Koukol Laughs
26 - 1:28 - Alfred Behind Sledge
27 - 0:20 - Sarah Asks For A Bath - Love Tune
28 - 1:58 - Krolock On Sledge
29 - 0:36 - Vampire Corners
30 - 0:40 - Shagal Leaving
31 - 1:04 - To The Cellar
32 - 0:40 - Skiing
33 - 1:14 - Portraits
34 - 2:44 - Alfred Hears Singing
35 - 2:22 - Vampires To Crypt
36 - 2:49 - Both Over Rooftops
37 - 1:56 - Sarah's Song
38 - 0:29 - Alfred Over Rooftops
39 - 1:21 - Alfred In The Crypt
40 - 3:54 - Herbert's Song

CD tracks SHOULD be listed as:

22 - 2:14 - Main Title
23 - 0:53 - Snowman
24 - 0:51 - Sarah In Bath
25 - 2:07 - Koukol Laughs (This is when Krolock bites Sarah)
26 - 1:28 - Alfred Behind Sledge
27 - 0:20 - Krolock On Sledge
28 - 1:58 - Sarah Asks For A Bath - Love Tune
29 - 0:36 - Vampires To Crypt
30 - 0:40 - Alfred Hears Singing
31 - 1:04 - To The Cellar
32 - 0:40 - Shagal Leaving
33 - 1:14 - Portraits
34 - 2:44 - Skiing
35 - 2:22 - Herbert's Song
36 - 2:49 - Both Over Rooftops
37 - 1:56 - Alfred Over Rooftops
38 - 0:29 - Alfred In The Crypt
39 - 1:21 - Sarah's Song
40 - 3:54 - Vampire Corners

A couple of these gave me problems: "Sarah's Song" and "Herbert's Song" are the two pieces of music (with that singing voice) that Alfred hears when he's drawn to Sarah's room...the first time encountering Sarah in the bath, and the second time when he mistakenly THINKS it's her, and turns out to be Herbert filling the bathtub. The music is virtually identical in both cases, but I think I figured out which was which, since the version used the first time when he finds Sarah is shorter, and the second time with Herbert is actually longer, so I went on that basis.

The other problematic track title was "Vampire Corners". I actually had no idea what scene that track title could be referring to, so I kept away from that track title until I verified all the other ones. What that track is seems to be a "longer" version of the Main Title music....it basically sounds like the Main Title track was edited to run longer, although I could be mistaken and it might actually be from some part of the movie, although it really didn't sound that familiar.

Another problematic track title was "Koukol Laughs". That's actually an incorrect/wrongly -chosen track title, because that music is from the scene of Sarah and Alfred filling her bath tub, Sarah in the tub, and the Count descending into the room and biting her (and of course, Alfred's hysterical reaction when he peeks through the keyhole!). Go figure as to why that title was chosen for that track.

Also, as I mentioned before, there's a couple of glaring omissions from this recording: most obvious piece of music that's NOT on here is the minuet music that Herbert plays when the vampires are dancing, although it's possible that might be a vintage classical piece that Komeda used for the film, and not an original composition from Komeda. There might be a small bit of music here and there that I overlooked, but another major scene is when Herbert is chasing after Alfred (and then the Professor), and goes sliding through the bedroom door and crashing onto the bed, which collapses. That music from that scequence is definitely not on this cd recording, but the "dance" music was really missed by me.....Would have been nice to have it on this cd.

Anyway.....you can see how screwed up the track titles were on this! NOTE: the "bonus track" (Track #41) on this cd is definitely NOT the Main Title from TFVK. I have no idea what film it's from, but it's neither ROSEMARY'S BABY nor TFVK, and it does have film dialogue mixed in to the track....It actually sounds like something taken right off of a movie's soundtrack, incidentally.
