Biography
Born in Amsterdam, 22 september 1953.

High school: Barleaus Gymnasium (ß), studied biologie at the "Universiteit van Amsterdam". At the same time active as trumpet-player (and as bass-player) in a wide variety of groups and styles, o.a.:

Pop-music:
"Shark",
"De combo de nachtkaars",
"De Houseband", with many TV-shows, LP-recordings and tours (o.a. Germany and Argentina).

Classical music:
the ASKO-ensemble ,street-orchestra's like "Jan Mobiel" and "Overlast".

South American music:
"Party Time Calypso Band",
"Salsa d'Amsterdam",
"Bess" (tour's to Curacao and Cuba),
"Venus I" (while living in Paris),
"Trio Tamicos" (untill now …).

Entertainment music:
the orchestra "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" (also on tour in Berlin and Belgium), wrote various arrangements, the orchestra won the Dutch music award: "Edison" for the CD "It's the talk of the town".

Jazz:
"Future Shock" (live on many festivals, o.a. in Djakarta, Indonesia, and two times the North Sea Jazz Festival),
"Sambra",
"JC Tans & his Rockets",
"Vera Vingerhoeds and the Lazy Bones".

And, still playing with, "I Compani" (also on 1998 and 2000 on the North Sea Jazz Festival).

Many radio-,TV- & CD -recordings, as well as with own horn-section "Wind & Co"(wich made its first appearance on the streets of Paris…), for a wide variety of projects and with a lot of different bands (NOS-journaal, Tros Sport, Van gewest tot gewest, Bram Vermeulen, Gruppo Sportivo, De Dijk).

About aranging & composing:
Began arranging, and later on composing, for the bands he played in, o.a. the orchestra "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", in wich he played and toured for several years. As an arranger he also began to work for feature flims , like "Abel" (Alex van Warmerdam) en "Han de Wit gaat in ontwikkelingshulp", as well as for TV-tunes and commercials. But composing turned out to be the real thing...
Over the last 15 years he wrote, in a wide variety of styles , many scores for TV-series , feature films, documentaries , corporate images, songs for children, theater, modern dance, educational series, commercials and animation movies.

The influence of years of experience on stage with (partly) improvised music, combined with passion for late-romantic composers and folkoristic music from all over the world, leads often to dramatic scores, but only where needed...
