Composer, arranger and conductor, who became a prodigious orchestrator. He was educated in public schools. Maurice was student of Maurice Gold, Frank Saddler and Jeanne Franco.

Conductor for the DePackh Ensemble from 1928 to 1931. Maurice worked on many Broadway plays as an orchestrator, including "The Girlfriend"and Manhattan Mary"he subsequently moved to Hollywood where he became a busy orchestrator for RkO, later MGM,and Warner Bros.

He was David Buttolph's right hand man, doing most of his orchestrations from 1950 to 1960.

Toward the end of his life, Maury was involved in work for television, most notably Warner Bros TV, where he worked as composer, arranger and orchestrator on the series "Hawaiian Eye." In fact, it is his work we hear as orchestrator for the titles to this classic series.

Maury did not tell his colleagues he had a heart condition, and suddenly passed away from a heart attack, on the 24th of May, 1960.
