Musician Union rules
In the most recent Varèse Sarabande Club releases batch
the company gave some reasons why they did a (welcome!)
re-release of Jerry Goldsmith's "the 'Burbs" In their explanation
was one sentence that really caught my attention.
"As of 2007, the Musician Union rules have changed in this neighborhood"
Is there anybody out there who knows what the effects are of this?
enjoy the MUSIC,
Wim

I'm no expert on the Musicians Union, but I heard they changed the rules this year to allow considerably lower fees for music that is pressed in low quantities (like soundtrack releases). This is very good news and should allow many more expanded/complete score releases that wouldn't have been possible before.
