A fantasy question: Just for the fun of it
Hello,
Just for fun I would like to pose a total fantasy question. If you were "the power that be" at Varese Sarabande music company and you could get the rights to any film music you wanted, obtain any lost or destroyed film music from any film ever made. Also find alot of extra and alternate music from any prior released scores. What would the next Varese Club releases be? Using the last club release format of:
1. (3000 copies) Deluxe Edition
2. (2000 copies) Deluxe Edition
3. (1000 copies)
4. (1000 copies)
5. (3000 copies) double cd - two scores - by one composer
I came up with alot of different combinations, But I think the following would be final choice.
1. "The Wind and the Lion" Deluxe Edition - Jerry Goldsmith
2. "Masada" Deluxe Edition - Jerry Goldsmith
3. "Villa Rides" - Maurice Jarre
4. "Sleuth" - John Addison
5. "Gold" and "The Bridge at Remegen" (2cd) - Elmer Bernstein
Best Regards,
David Phoenix, AZ.

This is not a question to be answered without careful thought. It's like a Genie granting five wishes.
I would have to roll it over in my head for awhile.
I have one. "Won Ton Ton, The Dog Who Saved Hollywood" (Neal Hefti) 1000 copies.

Straight Time (David Shire) a 500 copy run.
I anticipated this score being released when the film came out.
AND I'M STILL WAITING 29 YEARS LATER FOR CHRIST SAKE!!!

Why is my seaview serenity and peace of mind being disturbed and termpted children???
The night is approaching and las vampyras stiletto lesbos are almost here to suck... blood.
Even after I'm granted a dozen 100 orgy wish titles from my personal devoted Jeannie... former Italian senator Tsitsiolina, I would still want more!
For the first two I vowed not too... what the heck.
~1 "Airport '77" - John Cacavas
~2 "Airport 79' The Concorde" (the least orgasmic film of the foursome but good scoring nevertheless... great opening suite) - Lalo Schifrin
While on the hay roll... why not?
~3 "Starflight One: The Plane That Couldn't Land" - Lalo Schifrin
Perhaps a nice trio combo deluXXX?!...
~4 "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things" / "Deathdream" - both by Carl Zittrer / "The Devil's Rain" - Al De Lory (who?)
~5 "Blind Terror" aka "See No Evil" - Elmer Bernstein, Andre Previn (rejected), David Whitaker (rejected)... yes, ALL threesome as well!
Also... you can shove the necrophilic "Horror Hotel" aka ''The City Of The Dead" anywhere you please.
Lottie... you miserable creature!
It has an eerie main title chanting theme with some jolty jazzy tunes in between as topping.
Sprinkle sprinkle with "Cruising" by Jack Nitzsche (by the way the DVD will finally be released in the up & cuming months... after the film received a spanking of a warm welcome at an exclusive Cannes engagement) including the complete array of all the punk songs to help gulp the 10 cups of morning espresso to relieve the bad hangover from the night before... as well as the climactic classic of a classical piece by Luigi.
Boccherini that is!
They're here... gotta go.
PS
"The Split" - Quincy Jones

Hey Coma, what's this about "juvenile disquietness"? Especially coming from a person who has been pouting about the cancellation of "Le Mans" like an infant with a nipple pulled from it's mouth.
Hey Serifiot, the main title from "Cruising" can be heard on the Barre Phillips recording "Three Day Moon" as it was taken from that recording and used in the film.

Two more of my own. "The Hills Have Eyes" (1976 /Don Peake) and "The Town That Dreaded Sundown" (1976/Jaime Mendoza Nava)
I've always loved these two films and their scores.
