Question

Which Scores Should Have Never Seen The Light Of Day?

In other words, which score recordings that have been released over the years should be crushed in a trash compressor and used to pave 1-15 in the Nevada desert?

Two for me would be the sweet and nauseous score from Lee Holdridge "Jeremy" featuring a vocal by the films star Robbie Benson.

Here's another one that's so bad it's hard to comprehend it's existence... Have you ever watched a few minutes of a bad made for television movie and wondered who the hell composed that lousy tin can synth score? "Cage" by Michael Wetherwax is one of those scores. A cheepo CD manufactured by K-Tel International. It's a two bit ripoff of everyone from Jerry Goldsmith to Jay Chattaway and quite a bad experience even when experienced for only a very few minutes.

The Oscar-winning so-called score to BABEL. Enough said!

Babel sure is a worthy contender, but I'd vote for everything labeled Giorgio Moroder.
Remember what he did to Metropolis? This guy is even worse than American Idol!

EVERYTHING labeled Giorgio Moroder???

Midnight Express? Cat People?

I would think there is some memorable synthesiser music on these.

Haven't heard "Metropolis" but I certainly do like Donna Summer!

;- )

PS

BSX released some weird CD recently with 'I Want To Eat Your...'.

Was that necessary?

I like some of the music of Giorgio Moroder myself. The score from "American Gigolo" is perfectly suited to the film. Have always felt him to be a good choice of composer for that film taking into consideration the fact he himself was a big player in the 70's Los Angeles cocaine/disco scene.

Then again, some Giorgio Moroder music I find impossible to listen to. The funky crappy vocal stuff.

Speaking of Ocsar Winners, how about that piece of trash "It's hard out there fo' a pimp."?

The intelligence level of the human species is in a game of tug of war with a bottomless pit smack in the middle.

Whenever you think it has hit rock bottom something comes along and it slides down a little bit more.
