"Need" and "want" are two different things. Also:

Dear soundtrack fan,

if you are looking for a SONG from a movie, we kindly ask you to do some easy research steps on your own first before you post a request here. We recommend that you do the following - these resources have provided solutions for numerous song searches before and might answer your question, too:

First of all, visit www.imdb.com and search for the movie the song is from. If you have found the movie at IMDb.com, check if there is a “soundtrack listing” link in the left-hand column. If that is the case, you will get a listing of all or most of the songs played in the movie.
Try our own database here, of course: Look up your movie by typing the movie title in the white search space in the top right-hand corner of this site. From the list of search results, we recommend that you check out the TITLES first. Browse through the tracklists that you get to see when clicking at the titles.
If you know a part of the lyrics, just search for that part of the lyrics in www.google.com or www.yahoo.com by searching for the lyrics party you know with quotation marks (" ") around them. For example, look for "a kiss is just a kiss" in connection with the word "lyrics" after it and you will immediately find many web sites telling you that it stems from the song “As Time Goes By” (from the movie Casablanca).
Eventually, if you still cannot find the answer, you can still try to post your question here, but we would really appreciate it if you first took the search paths we have recommended here.

Thank you very much and we wish you good luck in your search!

Your suggestion (especially the IMDB one about using the "soundtrack listing" link for any movie's page there) is perfectly valid.....but it was also a bit rude, since this IS a discussion forum for (in the words right on the main forum page) "A forum for everything regarding soundtracks." A question about a song in a movie is no less valid than any other film music-related question posted here. Why not just answer the question if you know the answer, or not post the reply you did if you didn't know the answer.

Do you honestly think whatever persons or person submitting these mindless idiotic questions are serious?

tharpdevenport's response is perfect and it should be posted every single time there is such a question.

Why no other soundtrack forums have ridiculous song threads???!

Are we being to nice here?

It's a conspiracy I tell you but we will prevail this menacing evil!...

I only wish that we as members had the power to erase these specific song threads just by a simple mouse click.

CLICK CLICK CLICK

BOOM!

Such orgasmic ecstasy!

Ton, don't allow song threads please.

Go to FSM whoever you are and have a fiest of wacking their nerves a bit there will ya!...

They will devour you in an instant!...

PS

BTW I would love if someone can show me the path to righteousness by finding me a brand new and sealed cd (not LP) with all the songs from "The Strawberry Statement".

That's all for now...

Sorry, but song questions are perfectly valid and legit, whether it's an original song composed FOR a film, or a PRE-EXISTING song used in a film.

The only thing that was idiotic (and downright nasty) was your stupid and snobbish reply.

kriegerg69, July 27, 2007; 12:07 PM

...and candid!

serifiot, July 27, 2007; 12:22 PM

???

Bear in mind that some soundtracks are ALL songs....such as "The Strawberry Statement" (you dope!).

Or any number of hundreds of musicals that have been made, for example.

And?

Please go on... keep entertaining me.

Hey Kriegerg69:

I don't know if you noticed, but tharpdevenport only posted a statement that is shown on this website whenever you log in. He just reposted it for emphasis. I agree with the other members here that these endless posts looking for songs are quite annoying. Also its seems that many of these new "members" never post anything again. Just my two cents.

I've never seen that message ANYTIME when I log in here....whether it's logging in from the main Forums page or the main page of this site itself.

Just my two cents worth....I find all the spammish (IMHO) posts about people's Ebay listings to be really annoying.....That's taking advantage of the forum. (That's really NO different than the song postings). Such posts should be relegated to a separate forum for such posts....not here which is supposed to be a DISCUSSION about soundtracks, not a sale classifieds area.

Just my two cent's worth.....

What does the yellow box read?

It reads:

"What are we about?

I just saw what you meant....the link is when clicking the "Ask A Question" for making a NEW post......and I don't think I've ever used that before.

"alwayspogi_2794" and "nicos", thanks for all of your help! Everyone else, thank you for wasting everybody's time with ridiculous posts. I didn't ask for the song title so I could be told not to ask for a song title, I have searched up and down for this particular track and could not find it anywhere. Kriegerg69, you receive an honorable mention for sticking up for me.
