American.Nightmare (and others): I only have the Lucertola release of Ortolani's "Cannibal Holocaust", and I find the score fantastic. Should I get the Coffin Records release as well?
benterik, July 27, 2007; 6:31 AM

I only have the Lucertola Media release as well, so I couldn't compare sound quality between the two, although I generally prefer the jewel case format (Lucertola) over the digipak (Coffin). Also, for some reason I like the cover art better on the Lucertola release.

Hello David
Currently it's THE SHOOTING PARTY by John Scott. I like the feeling of flight in the music. Very beautiful music.
Previously I played David Newman's WAR OF THE ROSES.

Confessions Of A Police Captain (Ortolani)
As for the Cannibal Holocaust question... I have the USA Coffin release. Contains a CD Rom trailer and short interview with the composer. The cover design is okay. Has a folded insert with info on the film and score and some brutal images. Without having seen or heard the Lucertola release, it's obvious all the same that the German disc is the better of the two.
I read the previous high praise of American Nightmare on this site before having listened to it. Count me amongst the hooked!

Hmmm--so far three people, whose taste seems to be beyond reproach, have said nice things about Cannibal Holocaust. May have to pick that up.
