As usual, the good and honest people get punished along with the bad ones. I've never ripped off anyone, yet I feel I am being punished for what a few others have done. And just when I was really starting to like this site. Being able to buy and sell soundtracks is half the reason for coming here. Without the classifieds or no way to contact other collectors, this site is nothing more than a database. Wish lists are now pointless. I hope the people running this site will re-consider bringing the classifieds back or have some other way of connecting with other people, otherwise I feel members of this site are going to go elsewhere.

I am sorry you feel that way, and I am also sorry we had to close down the classifieds section, but we feel we are not able to make sure the people buying and selling on it are honest in what they're doing.
Sites like Ebay, Yahoo and Amazon are much more suitable for that and have systems in place to check whether buyers and sellers are legitimate.

We still feel though that there are enough options left on SoundtrackCollector:
* if a member has a public wish list or collection and a public e-mail address you will still be able to contact him/her;
* You can always try to contact someone using the forum.

We're also thinking about making it more easy to send someone a message without revealing your e-mail address.

And if you have any more suggestions to make this site better, we're more than happy to take them into consideration.

The classifieds were a great service. It is indeed a great loss. Soundtrack Collector cannot be seen as being responsible for the problems encountered. Black sheep can be found everywhere and they are not always easy to trace. But I do NOT believe that taking away the classifieds was a necessary even helpful step.
