You will forgive me if I don't run right out and send off money to this person. This is the type of crap that makes it harder for serious collectors to set up legitimate trades and sales over the Internet. Be careful.

See ya later.

Wise to take a pass on it.

Hell, I become upset if someone so much as tries to play me cheap, let alone getting ripped off by some low level internet grifter.

I've had pretty good transactions on ebay with only a couple minor ordeals. Such as someone who refused to answer my unsent item request and then finally said they had acidentally sent the recording to the wrong person. It finally arrived after a couple of months from 175 miles away.

I say when it doubt, leave it lay.

I guess it's the same guy who had turned up here some days ago, offering all (!) Varèse CDs for
40 $ (or Euros) and without losing any time, offerd his PayPal-adress. It started with SENEGAL,
and when I commented, that this sounded strange, he disappeared like morning dew.

Perhaps he grabbed some mail adresses on his way out?

The even sadder part is this type of thing continues to give people a misguided view of Senegal and its people. Oh well, we can only hope that eventually we will outgrow this type of thing on the Internet.

See ya later.

I, too, decided it looked bogus but did wonder if it was aimed at me as I do have a "large-ish" EM collection ... which does not include these two rare items.

Yep. That is the same e-mail address. This person might be looking at our want lists or our published collections. Oh well.

See ya later.

Yep, this was the mail address he had given here. Imagine, he offered EVERY Varèse CD! *LOL*

To me, this sounds like these business offers from some obscure african states, offering huge
profits, mountains of gold and official honours. Just send 10.000 Euros as security and you'll
make millions in diamonds and oil for sure.

Hello!

In case this information could be useful, I think this guy's e-mail address is from Portugal:

"A Internet mais rápida do mercado, agora com chamadas grátis e downloads ilimitados!"

".clix.pt/"

I don't know about yo guys but my stream of glittering gold bullions have been on a permanent roll for the past few months and it seems from all the strange emails I've been receiving lately regarding lotteries I've won and millions upon millions of cash just waiting to be deposited in my bank account... I'm one rich toothless mother!

Respecting my privacy from all the African continent hawks... an old friend.

The internet is full of little scoundrels trying to figure a new con game.
Desperate bastards in those third world countries. Much more desperate than many of the down and out losers in the USA.
If you have a dime in your pocket, someone will try to take it. I seldom fall prey to the likes of those who would feast from my cadavor like CNN reporters or government screwballs.

Ironically, I will be selling a copy of Commando very shortly! But noone will be getting an email. It'll go on ebay without a fuss (well, maybe I'll post something on here about the sale but that's as far as it goes)

It's remarkable what spam does get through. Thankfully this forum hasn't been phished.

I got emailed by the same fraudster today.

I can only recommend to make sensitive data, like mail adresses, NOT publicly available on the
personal pages or, at least, not permanently.
