Alfred Newman's THE MARK OF ZORRO - 1940
It looks as if there are only 4 minutes of re-recorded score for this film available on a CD titled 'Mark of Zorro: Swordsmen of the Silver Screen'.
Are there any talks to re-record or put the entire original soundtrack out? Any indication on why it has never been released? Legal issues, tapes lost, etc?
It's a great score, right up there with Adventures of Robin Hood. Funny how it was neglected...

Agreed...this is one classic score which deserves a release in one form or another. It's really surprising that so many other Newman scores have been released but this one keeps getting ignored.

In this case the tapes are lost, I fear.
